Petals and Trinities with the Starburst Hotpad Crochet Pattern Linked Within

My kitchen has a bland white tiled area just above the dishwasher that always needs a splash of color.  It's a perfect place to display a new crochet project every few months.  For this quarter I used the easy and fun Starburst Hotpad.  With cotton in deep black and warm brown to help ward off chilly nights.  It worked up fast in one evening while the kids watched their cartoons.

Crochet Heart Corner to Corner Pet Blanket

Evie's new blanket
I made this corner to corner blanket for our miniature schnauzer Evie.  She's always sneaking snuggles with the girls special blankets so I figured why not give her one of her own!?!

Odyssey Crochet Square Coverlet Project with Link to Pattern

This pattern square means I'm now up to number thirty! That many makes a great stack. When I made it to 20 I was interested in laying them out. At 30 I'm just really impressed with stack height. I wonder when I'll feel another big accomplishment?

Ribbons and Roses Crochet Square Coverlet Project with Link to Pattern

Orange and two blues feels so beach surfing to me. I can almost smell the coconut and see the sand sticking to my legs. In this pattern I omitted the ribbon appliques and I'm pretty sure I placed the rose stitches in the wrong place because mine lay flatter. It gives it a more tropical flower feel and I'm good with that.

Fountain of Roses Crochet Square Coverlet Project with Link to Pattern

If I use my imagination in this pattern I can see a tiny fountain surrounded by roses, divine. I thought about how cute my daughter's little dolls would look if they used this to play. It took me a long time to make but I can attribute that to being outside and swimming not to difficulty.

More V's Please Square Crochet Coverlet Project with Link to Pattern

The color inspiration for this square came from the gallery of completed projects. It's loud and still finds a way to be soft looking. Very fun square pattern to follow my only problem came from the lack of stitch counts.

Super Sampler Crochet Square for Kitchen Decor with Link to Pattern

I have to admit I liked this pattern very much. Instead of using it for the coverlet project I hung it above the dishwasher then made two more six inch ones to add to each side of our kitchen window. Love it!

Ides of March Crochet Square Coverlet Project with Link to Pattern

March was a mental focus to get past the cold and darkness of winter. Since this pattern was named for March I went with it. The purple center is the cold while the yellow and orange is battling its way out to the edge which is the success of warmth and light at the border.

Frostbloom Square Crochet Project Deep Cool and Gold with Link to Pattern

Frostbloom pattern with cool two blues, two purples and a pop of warm gold to set off the whole thing. The simple flat double crochet areas draw your eye around to the V stitches beautifully and the interesting middle double lip created a nice dimensional feel. I love crochet!

Firenze Square Crochet Coverlet Project with Link to Pattern

I find that at times I slow down when doing a project of this size. Somehow I manage to find the ambition to move forward. I was stumped about the colors to use for this pattern. When I saw these colors used together I knew I wanted them too. It's nice to have finished projects to referrence when the creative well runs dry. Thought out colors are really important to the overall feel of this coverlet and I'm happy with this square.

Giraffe Crochet Toy for the Kiddo with Link to Pattern

The glue is still wet on the felt appliques but I know once I hand this toy to my 5 yr old I won't get near it again to snap a picture. I used this pattern and tried to keep it (not sure if it's a boy or girl yet till my daughter decides) cartoon like in its facial expression and posturing.

Oh Starry Night Square Crochet Coverlet Project with Link to Pattern

Washing over with blues and greens the center star seems to almost ungulate before my eyes.  I used the Oh Starry Night pattern to make this.

Water Lily Square Crochet Coverlet Square with Link to Pattern

This pattern is called Water Lily it was initially designed with a white center flower, green lily pad in the circle area and blue finishing up the outer square. I love the way this came together with the colors I chose. It was going to be two solid colors through the flat areas but at the last minute I decided to just keep switching to see what would happen. It gave me this really groovy stripe that sets the center up like a color burst just busting out of the center.

Childhood Memory Fraggle Rock Doozer Crochet Amigurumi

I remember seeing Doozers as a construction crew of background characters always fixing and rebuilding things destroyed by the Fraggles on Fraggle Rock. A television show about the zany antics of a bunch of Jim Henson muppets. He is made from this pattern I made mine from head through tail in continuous round rather than sewing on head and tail separate.

Shopping Bag Crochet Big Size Big Fun with Link to Pattern

Shopping bags take a beating with our family. We jam as much as we can into them to decrease the number of trips needed to get the food from the car to the house. Looking for a pattern to crochet a bag consisted of that need and overall strength. Beauty luckily came along with this bag. I adore the look now the key will be the handles not stretching under weight. We shall see...
