Zentangle Alphabet J K L

I finally finished off the last of the twenty six letters for the Zentangle Alphabet.  Lots of hours and almost a year later it feels good to be done.  Each letter is unique and a piece of art in and of itself.

What works for me for List It Tuesday
1. Writing when I first get up in the morning just anything to dump the useless crap stuck in my head
2. Listening to my husband more and talking 'at him' less
3. Taking the time to play with the kids instead of just being a Mom that is all work and no fun
4. Being open minded to possibilities that I am led by a higher power for a better life
5. Drawing every night even if it's only loosey goosey just to keep the pen moving

The final installment of the zentangle alphabet has just been uploaded and I am completed woohoo!  Now I'm going to hunt down the letters in my name and print them for my art journal.

Zentangle Alphabet P Q R

These artist trading cards are for a series of Zentangle Alphabets ATCs Swap - HAND DRAWN! ( add lots of colors ) at ATC's for All.  I find as I finish each three piece set I'm getting better at making them in a quality that I would want to receive from a swap.  That's really what it's all about with art swapping showcasing the best of our abilities so that as artists we can learn and grow from one another.

Zentangle Alphabet M N O

I decided when I did this set that I was going to use a different style of symbols rather than the traditional zentangle patterns.  I am completely pleased with the way these turned out.  Both the styles and the colors are perfect especially the letter N.

Zentangle Alphabet G H I ATCs

I signed up for another installment of the Zentangle Alphabet ATC swap at ATCs For All.  This swap is for the letters: G, H, and I.  I'm looking forward to creating the entire set.  I received my returns for ABC and love them.  If you're curious you can see the previous cards I made here ABC and DEF.  Each trio is vastly different from the last.  This set I made using Pitt brush pens the other two sets were made with Copics.

Zentangle Alphabet A B C ATCs

I signed up for the Zentangle Alphabet ATC swap at ATCs For All  This is the tag line that drew me in "This will be a series of Zentangle Alphabets ATCs Swap - HAND DRAWN! ( add lots of colors )  This Swap will start with the letters: A, B, and C"  I love swapping artist trading cards, I'm looking forward to creating and receiving twenty three more of these little gems.

Zentangles Set Three

9-15-2010 This is the third set in a series for the Zentangle swap. What is a Zentangle? In a word, doodles. Structured, contained doodles.

These cards were created using black Sharpie fine line permanent marker. I like creating my zentangles by starting out with a single object or theme in mind and then working around it.

These three are artfully done swirls passing two and fro throughout one another.  All of these art cards were purposely made as unique as possible.

'Three Out' has figure eight swirls dashing in and out of wide circles complimented by silver circles, the name three out comes from the 3 circles that aren't in shaded areas.

'Red Swirls' was made using red and black mashing together like a bowl of spaghetti.

'Dots' was actually the numbers 1 through 6 passing on and off the paper, if you look closely you can almost make them out.

This set was sent to Resi in my ATC Club for the Zentangle swap.

Zentangles Set Two

9-15-2010 This is the second set in a series for the Zentangle swap. What is a Zentangle? In a word, doodles. Structured, contained doodles.

These cards were created using black Sharpie fine line permanent marker. I like creating my zentangles by starting out with a single object or theme in mind and then working around it.

These three cards were designed around all the things I love about the Wildwood boardwalk in the summer.

'Amusement Park' has three classic rides, the ferris wheel (love the view of the ocean from the top) a merry go round and a roller coaster.

'Pizza' Well, that is pretty much self explainatory.  Nothing like sitting on a bench listening to the waves crashes, the gulls singing and smelling the vendors food combined with the sea air to make the event of eating the slice of pizza complete.

'Toy Claw' What visit to the boardwalk isn't complete without hitting the arcade?  This zentangle includes the claw machine that picks up toys and deposits them at the exit door as a prize.  This machine however deposits hearts as an added bonus.

This set was sent to Resi in my ATC Club for the Zentangle swap.

Zentangles Set One

9-11-2010 This is the first set in a series for the Zentangle swap.  What is a Zentangle? In a word, doodles.  Structured, contained doodles.

These cards were created using black Sharpie fine line permanent marker.  I like creating my zentangles by starting out with a single object or theme in mind and then working around it.

Card 1 Separate but, the Same.
This card began as 4 floating hearts that became entangled by the center focal point.  Each heart is an unique individual with its own spatial surroundings yet they become one with each other.

Card 2 Weather
As the name hints, this card is a combination of weather circumstances.  The eye being the main building point for this piece.  It looks ahead as the sun rises above it, the beginning.  The rains fall to the right creating a river washing away the platue on the bottom right. The clouds and wind to the left make the mountains rise again.  Like the eye keeps blinking to remain in good health the earth's weather keeps cycling.

Card 3 Sea Life
Sea Life is a 'just for fun' piece incorporating an octopus, seahorse and underwater flower into a flowing checkered circle.

This set was sent to Resi in my ATC Club for the Zentangle swap.
