I set this goal and did it! Looking at this completed flag reminds me that I have heart to see through a big project within a set time limit. Paced and complete to the end. Feeling so good.

American Flag Progress Update

It's been two weeks since the Memorial Day decision to start the American Flag project and it is looking good! The goal of July 4th still feels attainable. I'm not overwhelmed with the daily work load and I've even begun to single crochet stitch a portion. I'm excited seeing results starting to come together!

I made a graph to help me track the progress I have made with the 4th of July flag project. So far there are 24 red, 25 white, 16 stars and all 8 half blocks. The half blocks were super easy so I didn't see any point in dragging out that process.

American Flag 4th of July Project Crochet Along

Starting today Memorial Day 2014 I am going to crochet an American Flag that I plan to hang on the front deck July 4th. This pattern will be the most entertaining, I get easily bored with row after row unchanged. 40 days 264 crocheted granny squares, 113 dark red, 93 white, 50 stars, 8 half blocks....big challenge? Let's break it down...they are 3" x 3" squares, the plan is 3 dark red, 3 white, 2 stars daily with the addition of 1 half block every five days. Not so tough. This is possible, I can do this. Check in with my WIP's will be every Monday.  Crochet Along and have a 4th of July American flag to celebrate too!
