Drawing a Leaf Collection

While Aurora was playing outside I spied a pretty leaf and picked it up.  After hunting around for a few more I tucked them away and saved them for drawing.  They are the most lovely leaves I could find with their deep reds and hints of yellow.  After finishing I checked my every day matter list and figured they apply to #41 - Draw a collection.  I've also included a photo of my work area to share with What's on your workdesk Wednesday.  This is actually my kitchen counter I find this area the easiest to work at when the girls are up during the day.

  6. I like to think of you drawing and colouring in the kitchen whilst waiting for domestic stuff gong on around you...boiling the kettle, waiting for the microwave to ping...! LOVELY rendition of the leaves, and the trouble of adding the shadows really makes them jump off the page. Stunners.

  7. I love your leaves, the colours are gorgeous. We don't really get autumn here in Brisbane, it's warm most of the time and the only time leaves hit the ground is when the wind blows a gale. Then most of them end up in my pool. It looks like a good place to work in the kitchen. You can keep an eye on the girls and draw at the same time.
    Have a great week.

  11. Nice leaves. I keep collecting them just to watch them curl up and die. Must sketch some soon. Yours are inspirational! Really nice.

  13. You captured the beauty of autumn really well, very nice colours and a great collection!!!
I just love this time of the year.

You pretty much work in same places that I think most of us do, where ever we can : ) I have a studio space, but when my daughter is home and not feeling well, I have to work in the house to be near her. So I have to grab what ever surface I can get.

  18. You have inspired me to go out and gather a few pretty leaves to use in some way. I have been trying to get back to drawing, which I used to do, so that would be a good place to start again. Thank you for showing us your lovely work. xx Maggie #33
