Blue Jay (Cyanocitta cristata)

01-11-2012  I saw a blue jay as it fluttered onto a dried hedge.  It sat there between a house and garage while I was rolling up to a stop sign near by.  It looked me in the eye and seemed unimpressed by my being there.  I was inspired to draw.  They are much larger up close than you would imagine.  Online it read that they can get up to 17 inches in length.  The blue feathers glistened in the sun and with the little tuft on the top of its head it had an air of intelligence.  I plan on using these drawings in a Faux Postage Stamp swap with ATCs for All.
